Kevin Durant cherishes another chance to return to Chase Center, this time for the All-Star Game

Kevin Durant is eagerly anticipating his return to Chase Center in San Francisco for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game. Reflecting on his time with the Golden State Warriors, Durant expressed, “This is my home… this is always going to be a part of my DNA, this is in my blood.”

The 2025 All-Star Game introduces a new format: a four-team mini-tournament. Three teams, each comprising eight All-Stars, are named after TNT analysts Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith. A fourth team, led by Candace Parker, consists of the winners from the Rising Stars championship game. Games are played to 40 points without a game clock, and teams compete for a $1.8 million prize pool.

Durant, now 36, recently surpassed 30,000 career points, becoming the eighth player in NBA history to achieve this milestone. He joins fellow All-Stars Stephen Curry and LeBron James in this year’s event, marking his 15th All-Star selection.

Despite his excitement to return to Chase Center, Durant has previously voiced his disapproval of the new All-Star Game format, stating he “absolutely hate[s] it” and prefers the traditional East vs. West setup.

As Durant prepares for the All-Star festivities, he remains a central figure in the NBA, celebrated for his scoring prowess and deep connection to the Bay Area.
